
Katie Thorsos, OTR/L, is the owner and operator of Calm Nest Occupational Therapy. Katie is a neurodivergent OT with sensory sensitivities and has been personally using sensory-based nervous system regulation strategies for over 15 years.
Katie first became aware of autism at age 7 when her uncle married her aunt, an autistic woman who had been diagnosed as a child in the 1960s. In the decades since, she has spent time with autistic folks in a wide range of personal and professional contexts.
To her work as an occupational therapist, Katie brings 15 years experience working with clients with a wide range of disabilities and neurodiverse conditions, including autism, schizophrenia, Down syndrome, intellectual disabilities, personality disorders and mood disorders. Katie finds joy in discovering each person’s strengths and working with clients to build new skills and supportive systems.
In her free time, Katie is fond of communing with cats and spending time in quiet places in nature.
